Faisal Emami, Electrical Engineer EIT
Faisal originally came to Prism Engineering as a student under the engineering co-op program, where he did an eight-month term with Prism working in the electrical department. During his time as a co-op student, Faisal showed ability and characteristics of interest to Prism. After completing his co-op term, Faisal continued to work part-time with Prism and was invited to become a full-time employee in August 2016 as an electrical engineer-in-training after his graduation from SFU.
In his tenure at Prism, Faisal has expanded his abilities and skills to become an integral part of the core employees of the electrical team. He has progressed in levels of confidence to move into management of projects. Over the past two years, in addition to becoming proficient in lighting systems, power factor, generator sets and electrical distribution, Faisal has taken a lead role as the technical ”go to person” for electrical distribution projects; expanding, updating and improving our evaluation tools and specifications in this area. Additionally, Faisal has helped in development of and updating evaluation spreadsheets and customized analysis databases that are the core of Prism analysis capability tools.
Expanding his roles beyond being a technical staff member, Faisal is also active in marketing services to clients and training of junior design staff.
His involvement within the electrical industry outside of Prism has included him taking on the position of being the company contact for BCEA and getting himself involved with at least one BCEA committee as a way of giving back to the industry.
As he approaches obtaining this Professional Engineer status within the next few months, Faisal has demonstrated maturity, dependability and continued growth in expanding skills over his time with Prism Engineering. With his continued focus on excellence in his work and improvement of himself, Faisal has created himself as a key person within the future of the organization.
The BCEA would like to congratulate and thank Faisal for all his dedication to this industry and recognize him as the high achiever for the month of April!

High Achiever of the Month
Do you know a young professional making a difference?
To celebrate and recognize young leaders who distinguished themselves early in their career through professional achievement which can also include volunteer service, someone who is the unsung hero always there to lend a helping hand, and/or someone that deserves recognition for their contributions to the industry or within your corporate culture.
Each month an individual will be selected and highlighted on all BCEA social media platforms. All those recognized monthly, will qualify for the BCEA High Achiever Award that will be awarded at the BCEA Annual Awards Luncheon in December 4, 2020.
- Must be 40 years or under
- Must be an employee of a BCEA member in good standing
- At least 2 years experience in the electrical industry
- Must not have received this award or recognition in the past from the BCEA
- Has demonstrated significant accomplishments within the industry or your company
Nomination forms must be received by the third Friday of each month to qualify.
